Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Little Pirates Childcare are happy to announce that their new online booking system, Childcare Online Booking (CoB) is now ready to go live. Please see the link at the end of this letter to access the system. Hopefully this will simplify the process for when you are booking your childcare and/or Before/After school & Holiday clubs. The system will not allow bookings to be made without a form of payment. The new system has been introduced to save time for both parents and staff and to introduce a system that does not allow debt to accumulate.
Please note you will not be receiving an invoice for October fees. You will need to book for any sessions required in October on the Childcare Online Booking (CoB) system.
We thought it might be helpful to explain the system in further detail:
We understand there may be teething problems with CoB or that you may have questions. Please email your questions to littlepirates@drake.norfolk.sch.uk or call the office 01842 762055.
All sessions can now be booked on our new childcare online booking system.
Please log on to https://little-pirates.childcare-online-booking.co.uk
To register your child and you will be able to book the session you would like your child to attend.
All places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Dear parents and carers,
Welcome to a new term at Drake Primary School. We will be very pleased to see you all return in due course. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there have been some changes and this letter will explain a few of them. Please check the website for all the latest information and risk assessments. More detailed information will be coming through from class teachers in the form of class/year group newsletters which will be delivered by ParentHub and/or email.
School Apps
As well as the website, school uses two apps to ensure smooth communication. These are Parent Hub and the Pupil Asset Parent App. Please make sure you have both of these up and running for the new school year. Instructions are available on the newsletters page.
Arrival and departure
Please see table below. All gates will be labelled with the gate name, year groups and times so you know where to be and when. Parents need to remain outside of the gates.

Lunches
Children will be eating lunch in their classrooms. The school kitchen will be providing a hot meal and a packed lunch option. If you would like your child to have a packed lunch from home, this can be in a packed lunch box with a water bottle. (We are not asking children to bring lunch in disposable containers). The menu is available on the website – https://www.drake.norfolk.sch.uk/school-meals/
For children in Year 3 and above, lunches will need to be paid for in advance by using the Pupil Asset Parent App. The minimum payment is £10. Each school meal costs £2.30.
Fruit and Veg Scheme
The free fruit and veg scheme for children in Key Stage 1 is re-starting next week. This is where all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive a free piece of fruit/veg daily, so there is no need to provide a morning break snack. However, we cannot guarantee that the delivery will arrive in time for snack on Monday so please bring something for the first two days of term. Children in Years 3-6 can bring a fruit/veg snack from home if they wish.
PE
Children having PE need to arrive in their PE kit. They will stay in their PE kit for the day. Teachers will be issuing newsletters via ParentHub and/or email that will contain more details on which day PE will be happening and what to bring/wear.
Forest School
Children who are having Forest School need to arrive in their forest school clothes with their wellies and a change of clothes in a separate bag.
Reception will not be having forest school for the first two weeks. Instead Year 5 will have one session each – Curie on Tuesday 8th and Tereshkova on Tuesday 15th.

Please follow the link for the latest guidance on what parents and carers need to know about early years providers, schools and colleges in the autumn term -
On Tuesday 25th August Norfolk County Council launched a campaign – Let’s Get Back to School – to encourage parents to support their children’s return to school, following nearly six months of partial school closures.
There is a new webpage www.norfolk.gov.uk/backtoschool with lots of useful information and advice for parents. It includes information on school transport; test and trace; attendance; starting school and emotional well-being and transition support.
The Norfolk Safeguarding children partnership have also created a return to school video ‘Return to School’ Video - #RTSnorfolk
The Norfolk ‘Return to School’ video has just been released! The locally created film has been designed with young people to answer their specific questions, worries and concerns about returning to school. With the help of local teachers and Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership, the video gives practical, honest advice in a colourful and easy to understand format. The video is available online: www.JustOneNorfolk.nhs.uk/return-to-school
