    Curriculum

We have a clear, progressive online safety education programme that is taught primarily as part of the computing curriculum, but is also embedded within the wider culture of the school. This covers a range of skills and behaviours appropriate to the children's age and experience. We use Project Evolve and National Online Safety (NOS) to deliver the curriculum, both of which are built around the UKCIS framework “Education for a Connected World” (2020) and the following strands:

    • Self-Image & Identity
    • Online Relationships
    • Online Reputation
    • Online Bullying
    • Managing Online Information
    • Health, Wellbeing & Lifestyle
    • Privacy & Security
    • Copyright & Ownership

Pupils in Years 3 through to 6 have regular opportunities to deepen their skills of these 5 rules, engaging in relevant material and learning with their peers how to keep themselves and others safe online.

    Tips for staying safe online:

    • Only use respectful language when talking to other people online. You should expect respect from others, too
    • Only play games that are safe and appropriate for your age. Some are for older children.
    • Check every download, app and attachment - they might contain a virus or be a scam.
    • Keep your personal information private - such as your full name, address, school and passwords
    • Always tell a grown-up you trust if you feel upset or worried about what has happened online
